13. Timber Advice
Unless stated otherwise, we use premium tanalised timber and great care will be taken in selecting and installing the timber. Timber is a natural product and as such may experience changes throughout the course of its life. This means it may:
- Develop openings (gaps, slits, apertures, cracks, splits) along the line of the grain. These openings are due to the difference in moisture content between the internal and outer surfaces of the timber. This is to be expected and will not affect the integral strength, or life of the product.
- Initially have a colour variation which will fade during the weathering process.
- Fade as the timber reacts with sunlight.
It is advised that structures are checked on a regular basis, paying particular attention to fixings and edges.
IMPORTANT!
Check regularly for evidence of deterioration and replace any parts that are showing signs of deterioration – failure to do so may result in an injury or hazard and Cheshire Wood Wizard Ltd accept no liability for damage or injury. It is good practice to treat the wood with a good quality wood preservative on an annual basis. Cheshire Wood Wizard Ltd offer a routine annual maintenance package if required.
